I've actually bought these bindings twice because I loved them so much. Pros: *Ratchets make it super easy to strap in, and quick release to get out *Fully adjustable, and easy to do on the hill if necessary *Super responsive *These things can take a beating Cons: *Toe strap came loose (locktight will fix that as someone mentioned already) *Rigid molded strap can make it harder to get your feet in (but once in, it holds you in place better than a soft one) *In extreme cold, ratchets can "act up" If you look at the SPI's, Teams, Tomcats, which I did. I think you'll find that theres no reason to pay the extra money for mostly cosmetic features, or features that you really don't need.

Strength:

Nice secure/soft padding with good support. Cheap.

Weakness:

Ratchet sucks. Colors.. ehh. Screws come loose OFTEN. After 10 runs or so.

For the price I got these (end of previous season) they were a great buy. A good all-around binding for begginer/intermediate with an aluminum base. First few times riding them, it was difficult to get my feet out out them. Most bindings are difficult to unstrap if tightened too much, but several times i spent several minutes getting my foot out. Soon, they broke in and was not an issue. However, after about 30 days on them, the ratchet started to get loose and was not a simple screw adjust. Metal had worn away on the ratchet and the release springs started popping out. (difficult to explain). But, this problem made it extremely difficult to keep my foot tight (the straps would slip). I kept using them, and the poor ratchet mechanism started stripping the teeth on the strap out rendering the bindings useless. I upgraded to SPi's this year.. The new rolling ratchet (all metal) mechanism looked like a good upgrade. Perhaps others had similar problems. Would recomend if you don't like your feet super tight like me.

Strength:

very strong and a great design.

Weakness:

nothing really. maybe the colors?

an excellent binding with very solid engineering behind it. if you look at it, ride makes an effort to make it as simple as possible, unlike some other brands (drake). very solid and strong, the straps work well, and can tighten enough to cut of circulation in my foot. haven't had any problems getting out of them either. as for the screws loosening, just put a bit of blue loctite on them and problem's solved. you'd think no one here's turned a wrench before...

Strength:

The EX's have an adjustable toe ramp which is cool if u have big feet, and like all ride bindings an aluminum base.

Weakness:

nothing except the ratchets.

I actually got the 2004 Ride EX and they weren't that cool cause the ratchets broke on me. I love Ride stuff so I threw in an extra 30 bucks and got the 04 SPi, the are sooooo sick, great ratchets, double highback, and extremely comfortable.

Strength:

Padded ankle strap, toe risers, easy tightening, solid binding.

Weakness:

Screws loosen, rachet gets frozen and hard to unstrap.

This binding pretty much sux. The first time i rode this pair the ankle strap loosened from hardcore pow runs and fell off. The screws come untightened after 4 or 5 runs and usually fall out. However this is an improvment from last years model. The toe risers are a great addition, and the ankle strap is nicelt padded and flexible. But in the end I would spend another 100 and hook myself up with some forums or burtons

Strength:

Stiff, good adjustability, nice ankle strap, rachet mechanism for tightening is smooth and quick (releasing is another issue though, see below)

Weakness:

When riding in powder or crud, the binding strap release mechanism gets jammed with ice/snow. It's no fun flopping around like a squid in the lift line trying to release after a brilliant run down the mountain. (How did these make it through testing?) Also, paint chips easily and all screws need to be snugged up regularly.

Bindings are well built (except for release mechanism jamming), they are nicely stiff, adjust well, and look good on my Ride Timeless board. Because of the increased stiffness (versus earlier Burton Freestyles), have had to spend time tweaking binding adjustments and mounting positioning to get really solid toeside response. The wide padded ankle strap also helped with the top of the foot bone ache pressure point I was trying to reduce (but it's not totally gone). Other good news is that everything is holding together, nothing has stripped-out (ratchets or baseplate), and the bindings really feel solid at speed and in late day bumps and crud. If they could fix the release jamming problem, these would be 5-star, but something as basic as this is pretty unforgivable (especially since my cheap $75 Burtons never had a problem with this). I thought people in 2001 reporting this issue were just being wimps, but it is a real problem, causing some definite lift line humiliation and annoyance. But, the binding/board combo has really improved my carving, stability, and speed

Weakness:

Screws on front straps always come loose, causing the strap to fall off.

I just started boarding and I got these for my first board... I dont know much about bindings but these suck... without much use the screws on the front straps will wiggle out, even if you screw them in very tightly, and the front strap falls off. I think it may just be the screws because I eventually lost both of them and put in some ones I found in my garage and the worked fine. Other than that problem they are pretty good I suppose, though I don''t have much to compare with.
