Strength:
not clunky easy to use the bar latches in really well.
Weakness:
...none that i found. i think it was that year :P anyhow. i tried it at a resort, i went thru rossignol and device bindings and i despised device and liked the setup of rossi but then i tried the n types and they felt really safe and secure. i wanted to buy this type but a worker at a sport shop said that they didnt make they anymore so i ended up getting the x type [next best thing], and unscrewed the highback. i put fair deal for the value rating b/c the price depends on where you can get it from. Strength:
- simple, simple, simple - easy entry - works under all conditions - stiff - quite cheap
Weakness:
- only one manufacturer of boots (vans) - design of boot-insert (steel frame) can cause surface-damage of boards deck while "scootering" (you touch the board with the frame) First of all: I´m german, so please excuse my terrible english.. I´ve been snowboarding fpr several years and I´ve tested various binding-systems such as strap-bindings, hardboot-systems, flow, and first time this year a switch-standard-N-system. I´ve purchased them on e-bay for ca. 175 € (new)incl. vans-boots, which is very cheap, seemed to be a blow-out price. The general apperiance of the binding is unbelievable simple, compaired to clicker or burton step-in bindings. First question was "how can this work?" It worked. I used this system on a freecarve board under extreme conditions (-22° Celsius / 1 m of pure powder) and never had any serious problems. To make it clear: You have! to clean your binding when it is full of snow. But you have to do this with any kind of binding - even a strap-binding will not fit proper when it is packed with sno and ice. The convenience of the entry is great, much easier than flow or similar systems. The locking is very durable and stable, great. The riding-perfomance should be the essential quality of a bindung. The bindings are without highbacks, these are integrated in the boots. Believe me or not: You won´t miss it. The contact to the board is fantastic, maybe to stiff for freestyle-boarders. It´s similar to a hardboot-system, so it feel´s great riding prepared pists, works fairly good in deep powder and pretty poor on a freestyle-board. Maybe there are better bindings for more specialiced riders. For the average freerider it´s a very good choice, esp. for the actual prices. Similar Products Used: K2 clicker Flow Intec |
