For people who like to ride a fairly stiff boot, this one is awesome. The new speed-zone lacing system (06-07) is SICK! It makes the boot way easier to lace up, allows you to pull them as tight as you could possibly want, tighten the top and bottom portions independently AND lets you adjust your boot fit on-the-fly. It's GREAT! I rode these right after buying them with NO BREAK IN and they were still super-comfortable all day on the hill!!

Heavy Ugly

The Ruler is one of the more flexible boots on Burton's line but it's still pretty stiff. I have very wide feet and the Rulers fit me well. The boot is well-padded and very comfortable. The heel cup does a decent job of preventing heel lift but you really need to tighten the liner to prevent it. It's a good all around boot. Only real issue is the weight, but I may be spoiled because I also have the Burton Ions which are almost 2 lbs lighter.

too tight, make feet hurt

i've worn these shoes more than 15 days and i'm still very UNHAPPY with them. i bought them 1/2 size too big and they still make my feet hurt and feel numb after about 30 minutes. they are rather stiff and uncomfortable. i never knew that i had wide feet. if you buy them make sure that they don't squeeze your feet where the tongue is. they are also rather heavy.

This is such a nice pair of boots. I have a condo at Bretton Woods i use them every weekend and they havent ripped. I loved my last pair so much that i got another this season. I would definitly buy these if u got the cash money.

Hey snobrdr757, i havent rode these boots but i heard there not that bad for the price. The reason that you are having bad heel turning might be cause your bindings and these boots are not compatable.

theyre warm and semi comfortable...look alrite.mine are the new 03's though so theyre not the same as in this picture

HEEL LIFT...MY GOD thats the worst ive ever had with a boot. i also get bad pain in the back of my heel near the end of the day because the liner isnt that thick so my heel rubs against the hard boot....there not stiff enough....when i bought them i was told they were built to stay stiff and after a few times the were rubber.I also like my bindings very tight and since these arent very stiff, they just give way and makes everything feel sloppy.

not all there cracked up to be. good for begginers....but once you start getting off the bunny hill stay away from these

The burton ruler is a great boot for all riding. It is comfortable and allows flex without being to stiff. It works great with most boots especially burton boots. It is fairly expensive but performs great and looks cool to.

Provides great support, dryness & warmth for the elements, and comfort when strapped onto your board.

A little on the heavy side, but that factor lessens as one works more and more with the shoe; anyone can just get used to the weight of the shoe.

Dec. 16, 2002 Great pair of boots. Having used them for only one session, they contoured the shape of my foot great; I didn't experience the pain expected from wearing a brand new shoe. I got these at such a bargain price because they were deadstock from last season. Instead of visiting local ski/snowboard conventions for gear, I would suggest anyone to look into online auctions to find the better deals on last season items.

this boot was a very good deal at $175 because they give you great support and are very comfortable. the only thing that was bad about the boot was that it did not break in to quick. it took till the 3rd day to not get the blister on my heel. but after that they are the best boots ive had.
