Strength:
They look fantastic. I hate fancy boots. I just want something that's simple and the all-black look is the way to go. Also, the liner was nice, and I could always get them on as tight as I could stand.
Weakness:
Too narrow! I have already gotten rid of these boots and will be trying something else next year. If you have any sort of a wide foot at all then I would not recommend these boots for you. On a positive note, I talked to a guy at the shop during one of my visits to try and make these boots bearable and he said that Northwave is aware of this problem and is fixing it next model year. He said the next genration of the APX boots will have a redesigned liner and more room in the toe box. I'm glad to see they're addressing the problem. I bought these boots for the 02/03 season and was definitely disappointed. I ended up back at the shop more than once for adjustments to the fit. The toe box is very cramped and even though I rode them all year (with discomfort) they never packed out. I tried them with many different types of socks with no success. Strength:
Tough construction, light-weight, COMFY!!!
Weakness:
I'd like just a little thicker liner would be perfect. 02 - 03 Kevin Jones soft boots are sweet. It's light-weight, extremely comfortable and supportive with removable liner (feels like you're wearing tennis shoes!!!!) This is a pro-model boot so it might not fit everyone's style of riding, but it's really a great boot. Similar Products Used: 32s soft boot (forgot what model) |

no this is a pair of boots, no doubt about that... and actually, they're not like every other boots. (that's good) kevin jones can't make boots. that one is fore sure, but someone at northwave surtenly can do it for him... super comfy boots, without all the flashing lights. nice! Strength:
Tough, reliable, effective, comfortable even to hike the jumps in.
Weakness:
Plastic lace tightner on insert is annoying, novelty oriented. I bought these boots honestly cause of color but objectively speaking they are good and reliable, the inserts are snug and tight. Warm form fitting boot. I must say though my left boot is looking crookid, but its not a problem cause performace has not been hindered. Similar Products Used: nitro $80 buck paper weight. |

These boots work as advertised! Look good too!
Weakness:
Absolutely none! I went from Vans step-ins to these boots and what a difference. They have alot more forward lean than some of the others, and that gets you in the right position I think. That in itself seems to prevent alot of the heel lift that riders talk about. WAY more comfortable. They don''t need to be broken in to be comfortable either. Right out of the box they feel good. The inner lace system works flawlessly too. I lovem! They are not too stiff either. |

Fits and secures the the feel real well. Fits too well so don''t forget to cut the toe nails. No heal slip, and the boots are real comfy. One of the best boots in my opinion. |
