Snowboarder
US13 large Hi-Standard boots. Heavy (95kg) snowboarder with UK13 EE/EEE feet. Boots seem to be pretty good so far. Light, responsive and have a nice square toebox for comfy toes. Especially like the way Vans removed the foam at the toe on the liner. Good preshaped fit around my ankles which is nice so heel lift isn't a problem. The liner compression lace system is also very well thought out allowing a snug fit inside the boot. The all round snug fit also adds to the feeling of control. The only gripe is the webbing eyelet system for the laces on the outside of the boot really sucks. The laces don't slide through easily. Metal or plastic eyelets that allow the laces to be tightened with one pull would be much more useful. I got a bad deal on the price. Wait till the end of season sales before you buy. Strength:
Price, durable, light unlike many other big bulky boots out there.
Weakness:
feet get wet but stay warm. It's a very good boot for the money. I have used them for about four years and haven't had any real problems. The boots have a form fit liner, that forms to your foot when heated. I havent had any problem with heel lift, or with my feet getting cold. The only thing is that my feet get wet, but they still stay warm. Keep in mind these are the only boots I have ever owned so I realy can't compair to any thing else. Only reason I'm getting new boots is because they dont fit any more. |
