Had this for a couple years...I like it...I look like I work for UPS. Doesn't block wind all that well. Poor resistance to abrasion (mine has piled). Stylin' cut. Comfortable. It is not particularly warm. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: n/a |

I have had my jacket for 2 years now. It is hands down the most versitile jacket that I have ever owned. I use it cross-country skiing in the winter, backpacking year round, canoeing and rock climbingin the Spring and Fall. This jacket moves and streches with you, it breathes incredibly, and sheds light rain and snow! The weather has to get pretty bad for me to break out a shell to put over this jacket! Most impressive is how it sheds the wind. Here in Wyoming the wind is almost constant. In the Fall and Spring you can count on it blowing 20 mph + almost daily. This jacket handles it without trouble. For fairly stationary activity (cooking breakfast in the morning by the tent) it keeps me warm to about 30 F with a Tarramar t-shirt underneath. For high activity with the same base layer it easy will go to 0 F. I have never felt remarkably overheated in this jacket, even when climbing over Bonney pass in the Wind Rivers with temps in the 50s. Durability: This jacket climbs rock with me and takes lots of abrassion from those rocks. It shows NO sign of wear. I also mountian bike with it (and I spend alot of time on the ground). Last year in Moab I skided accross the slick rock for several feet on my back; the jacket shows only a small snag by a shoulder. I just streched the fabric and the pull mostly went away! VERY IMPRESSIVE piece of clothing Customer Service No experience with them. Have not had a need to call! |

This review will be of especial interest to the heavy perspirers out there. I've had this jacket now for about six weeks and am using it a lot. I've already summitted Mt. Shuksan and Mt. Adams in it and have used it for many a hard conditioner hike, wearing nothing underneath but a lightweight capilene zip-neck. To me, the most wonderful thing about this fabric is that it breathes - and keeps you warm. I have never had much luck wearing fleece on my way up any significant elevation. I sweat, and regular fleece does not do much to get rid of it. If I wear a shell over the fleece, I might as well be wearing a sponge. The Icefall allows sweat to dissipate easily and quickly. It blocks the wind well, too. On the way down, where wicking isn't usually an issue, I'd rate the Icefall as warm as my Marmot Windstopper fleece jacket. My Gore-tex shells stay in my pack a lot more, because I don't really need them until things get really hairy. The jacket itself appears well-made, looks decent, and fits well, though a little on the large side. Ibex.com is closing out last years models for 40% off, which, in a sane world, would be about the right price for any jacket. It's a steal compared to other, similar products. Customer Service Good service. Responded right away to questions I had. Exchanged a pair of Guide lite pants for a different size with no hassle. Similar Products Used: Marmot driclime - until the Icefall, my favorite pieces. I still use the driclime vest a lot. |

Although I have had this jacket for a short time, I'm won over already. I have owned the Cloudveil Serendipity for over a year nowand have worn it almost every day since I got it. Scholler produced a wonderful fabric for Cloudveil and Ibex's seems to be just as nice. Customer Service I met the founders on the Appalacian Trail a few years ago and they were great. I'm impressed with everything about the company except for the prices (get things on sale if you can!) Similar Products Used: Cloudveil Serendipity |

You have to believe everything they say about this Jkt is true, including the price tag; because you'll not be able to buy at discounted price like the direct competitions, namly Gamma SV, Serendipity jkts, fromdealers like mGear, Altrec.com etc. Customer Service Ibexwear is prompt to answer queries and eager to suggest alternatives, they are so nice to even mail printed catalogues to my overseas address.
