Great board that is very stable and fast, great edging with long stable turns, and holds it course very well in both powder and ice. Have been using it for 9 years now, nothing to complain about, would buy it again. |

Strength:
Fast, stiff, stable, amazing edge hold, versatile freeride weapon.
Weakness:
Weaker base than my supermodel Awesome board, I used to ride a supermodel and the frontier is alot stiffer and more fun to ride. It can comfortably take you anywhere on the mountain (trees, powder, groomers, crud, ice, whatever) and is very fast and stable. Similar Products Used: Burton BMC, Cascade, Supermodel, Custom |

Strength:
It turns like a mother and is the fastest board I've ever ridden. It cuts in when you need it and floats in powder.
Weakness:
Doesn't get from one edge to another as fast as my old balance, but it makes up for that a thousand times over. This is one kick ass board. I just got it and it rocks my world. Similar Products Used: Burton balance, Dunn |

Turns at will Great in powder
Weakness:
No snap back Less stable at very high speeds 163. Great board, turns like a mother, but I don't find the snap and stiffness others are reporting. I'm 6'0", 185 lbs, plus I use hard boots, so I may be overpowering the thing. Perhaps I should have gone for the 166 instead of the 163. I bought this board after finally breaking my Burton Asym Air, which I absolutely loved. The Frontier turns better and can carve deep ruts, but it is less stable at high speeds and has zero snap back when doing quick turns on steep slopes. I'll probably sell it if I can find a board that has more snap but still turns quick and carves Similar Products Used: Burton Asym Air Burton Fusion |

Strength:
Stiff Fast Rock Solid stable
Weakness:
Stupid graphics Heavy After riding crappy Limited and Lamar boards this thing was completely different. Very stiff - a lot of effort to work the board, but will pay off with strength and speed. Holds an edge like nothing ever ridden before. Similar Products Used: K2 fatbob, limited drifter, burton supermodel |

Strength:
Nice and stiff, carves well, and snaps out of turns crisply. Base is durable and fast.
Weakness:
Ugly top sheet, but I could care less. It spins a little funky, but that could just be me. This is not an intro level board. 166. This is a solid board. It's super stiff between the bindings, yet flexible enough to be resposive in powder. Good solid snap, and holds an edge really well. It isn't a BMC, but it still hauls ass. My only gripe is that it's a little too soft in the nose, but since I weigh around 200 pounds, everything's a little too soft in the nose. If you ride hard and really work your boards over, this is an excellent deck. It takes confidence to really utilize it's assets, but if you're up to the challenge, this board will perform for you. Stiff Fast smooth More you put in, more you get out
Weakness:
Scuffs too easily, but I don''t care. I care how it rides, no one can see your board when you''re screaming down a slope in the fog at hintertux. Well, I learned to board on Nitro Shaodws and an old Burton Asym Air. This thing is completely different. It is very stiff compared to these; but wow! It is a good board, though I agree with the previous reviewer in that you need to have confidence in yourself and the board. If you do, it responds. Caught an edge a few times, but recovered each time. The best thing about this board is the harder you work it (and yourself) the more you get from it. I bought a dragon 62 cheap, so I guess I''ll be taking stiff to a whole new level :-) In summary: Great Board, stiff, fast, fun. - Stiff but not too hard to handle - Holds an edge on anything - Great graphics - Just a f*****g fun board
Weakness:
- Topsheet scratches easily 163. Best board I have ever ridden -- it is perfect in almost every respect. I used to ride Supermodels out west, but since moving to the East Coast decided I wanted something stiffer. Demo''d the BMC which was awesome, but could not stomach the price. Riding the Frontier made me get bored with Blue runs after a few days. It just wants to go faster and steeper. When I strapped this thing on my confidence level went up 100%. Like other people have said about this board, though, it''s not for beginners. You have to put in a bit of effort into it...do this and you will be rewarded. I don''t think I''ll ever outgrow this board. Never used it in the park or pipe...get it if you want to fly downhill and have a great time doing it. holds an edge like a board should predictable anywhere. stance has a nice setback with a very powder friendly nose.the side cut allows for a variety of turn sizes and shapes in all pressures. very snappy.
Weakness:
none that i can''t adapt for a dream come true. the first board i''ve owned since my competetive days in the early 90''s. my 166cm seems to be the perfect balance between high speed carving and powder playing. for anyone who likes to make nice round dynamic turns (a lost art these days) in a variety of conditions. i''m 6 ft 165 pounds and am happy with the 166. i was skeptical coming from a racing background that a board like this would hold so well in all conditions. it does! i chose to go with the c-14 binding and driver boot, all a good match. i went with this set up because i find that the new alpine boards are too terrain specific and not nearly as versitile as alpine boards of old. this board definately brings the beat back.
