Graphics on this board are one of the few in the whole world that aren't either blah/boring or juvenile Dungeons&Dragons/deathmetal album cover garbage some 17 yr old drew with abode freehand on his mac. This is a really pretty board. I want to hang out with the water nymphs that live on my base.
Weakness:
Top sheet is chippy, I even chipped the damn thing with a garbage can lid in Whistler while I was just carrying it. Sheesh. Fortunately the base is super solid, I've driven that base over stuff I swear would have left a huge gouge on some crap board. Bought this board because I wanted a pro level stiffness board not for freestyle, but for taking on 45 degree plus steeps where you don't want the board squashing out on you every time you land. For that, it's great, and the sidecut gives you just the right amount of finish. 158.5 is a good length for this board and I was happy that they lengthened it 2cm from the year before. Strength:
Piece of art All-round Capability Very forgiving while landing jumps Base doesn't get scratched up that easily
Weakness:
Not as stiff as the 450 (same price range) Wish it were a longer board (only available as a 158.5) This is a beautiful all-round board good for riders who like to do everything. However, if you lean a bit more towards carving, I would recommend a stiffer board like Salomon's 450 or Definition or Burton's BMC. Strength:
Good looks and all around top performance.
Weakness:
None, other than the initial price tag. This is one killer deck. Has no problem carving up the fresh powder or dropping into the pipe. Stable on the big landings and has good speed on the flats. Graphics are some of the sharpest I've seen. Similar Products Used: Oxygen 160, Ride 158 rental and Original Sin 158 rental. |

Strength:
Limited flexibility, fast as all hell, perfect for an all around rider
Weakness:
Sides scratch, chip, string off, whatever you want to call it kind of easily, but its ok cause its only cosmetic, and pretty hard to notice. Awesome board all around. Fast with great control at high speeds. Flexible, and forgiving on off balance landings. Perfect for larger people, and leaves some room for bigger feet. Graphics are awesome, especially the top. I ride with Burton CFX bindings and the combonations great. Powder, park, downhill, it takes it all in stride. Highly reccomended Similar Products Used: Sims ALL mtn, Burton floater, Santacruz H2 The sims and santacruz were awesome boards and very flexible, which is fun in parks. The floater was a little wide for me, even though it fit my feet rig |

Good for all kinds of riding Beautiful graphics and construction Forgiving Hard base
Weakness:
Not very stiff (less stable at high speeds and less pop) Only available length is 158. Price (but the others on the review list seem to have paid a lot less) Rippey is a beautifully constructed all-around board; somebody called it a piece of art and I totally agree. It is not as stiff as a 450 or a Custom and does not have as much pop. By the same token, it is very forgiving on landings. The base is very hard and does not get scratched up as easily as the Salomon boards, so, I feel more comfortable going back country on it. I don't feel very comfortable going fakie on this board, but I am not sure of the reason. Similar Products Used: Salomon 450, Burton Custom, Salamon 500, Burton BMC |

Strength:
Board is flexible. Fast, Carving can be done with relative ease. Overall performance is incredible. And if you''re into the graphics...the graphics on the Rippey give it a bit of character.
Weakness:
Very little. Top sheet near the edges tend to chip Regular price of board is steep. Look for sales. Worth every peny though. Awesome. Is the one word that I''ll use to describe it. This board is fast, stable, and carves with ease. You can do just about anything with this board. The Rippey gave me the confidence to do things I would not have attempted on any other board. |

This board is awesome! I have used it mainly for backcountry/all-mtn riding. It rides extremely fast & smooth. If you like speed and you want a board that will boost your confidence, look no farther. |

Strength:
performance, carving and stability...also very good flex.
Weakness:
top chips easy and the burton binding configuration for the binding screws...a little expensive but worth the price To be totally honest...this board is very very nice....It has the perfect flex, is extremely fast, very forgiving and stable at high speeds and landings.... This is my second board in 3 years and it is much better than the salomon 450..It just carves so smoothly and makes snowboarding more fun because of the confidence I have knowing that the board can handle anything I throw at it...don''t know about the pipe since I didn''t try yet...The performance is really more than I anticipated ..the best way to describe it is to say it is like a ferrari with the softest leather seats you can find on a mercedes...get the idea. very fluid . the graphics are sick especially on the base ..I almost think of it as a fine piece of art.. |
