Capita Jason Brown Freeride

DESCRIPTION

He being an artist, musician, friend, part owner, and art director for CAPiTA snowboarding, we are proud to present JASONbrown and his creation - the THINpigeon Signature series. Inspired by his need for skateboarding and the street spots in Vancouver, these boards are true to THINpigeon's heart and lifestyle. The shape, flex, weight, construction, photography, prose, aestetic design/layout, and overall shredability are entirely the result of Jason's time, energy and vision/Macintosh. These boards reflect the pro model dream in its most simplistic form: COMPLETEcreativeCONTROL. - Blue Montgomery

Lots of pop. not the fastest board in the world and a little on the soft side. However, the rebound is what makes this board special. If you know how to ollie a snowboard, you'll be surprised at how high you can go on this. It's relatively light considering the wrap around edges and the true cap construction and the durability is excellent. An excellent board for those who ride at moderate speeds and like to air out on every little nook and cranny they see. It's a directional shape but the switch characteristics are very predictable. A true jibber's board. Somewhat narrow for my size 10 foot. The waist is 24.5cm. so size 9 or lower is ideal, taking into consideration, of course, your stance angles. One thing that impressed me about this board was the quality of the construction....especially the slider inserts. Most companies that use slider inserts don't use grids on the top of the T-nuts but Capita does. Good design because they stay put, even during heavy lateral forces. The same can not be said for some other companies that have used this insert design. The geometry is interesting because stance is set back about .75 inches implying freeride use but the sidecut radius is quite short (8.5). Also, the soft-mid-stiff flex pattern is more geared toward freeriding...again, inconsistent with the short sidecut. Not quite sure what Jason Brown was thinking when he designed a board with a freeride flex pattern and stance setback with a freestyle sidecut. Regardless, it works well as a slow speed, highly controllable jib/rail board but gets significant chatter at very high speeds. A very durable sintered base with ho hum graphics but that's a purely subjective matter.

Customer Service

Haven't had to use it. It's taken very well to rails, logs, and unfortunately, a rock or six.
