Salomon Snowboarding Fastback Freeride

Salomon Snowboarding Fastback Freeride

DESCRIPTION

A board designed and manufactured with one thing in mind: speed. Extended nose/tail sidecut radius adds superior control and stability. Larger deck surface provides excellent flotation in the powder.

Strength:

It´s quite a nice ride and faster than any other boards i´ve rided with (probably ´cause they have sucked). It´s also faster than my friends boards. But took some time to get used to it after using a very light and flexible K2. Eagle Pass Mobile Truck Repair

Strength:

Steep downhill, groomed slopes, ice, crud, speed and most off all stability

Weakness:

Not quite as much pop as I'd like when going off the big kickers.

Awesome carver hold edge like a knife at high speeds, grips over ice and plows through crud. Probably the fastest base of any board I've ever ridden.

Strength:

Hi-speed (graphite base), light, stiffness increases with tip-angle of the board -> easy to carve but also very forgiving on ice or rougher surfaces. not easily deflected by piles of crud or slush, Easy to ride faky (try that on an alpine board ;-)

Weakness:

Price - but is cheaper than some other top-end boards. Not for the pipe I guess. Base needs regular waxing. (I am not sure about the Price - I paid 5000 Austrian Schillings - it was half the new season price)

This board is brilliant :-) I have ridden it for two seasons now and it is terrific. Very fast (when I bought it I tested it against a Burton Ultraprime), but a great all-rounder too - floats like a dream in powder. I wanted a board for carving but I wanted to float too. Mine is the FRS- but the shop tell me it is not significantly changed for 2003

Excellent and stable board meant for fast speeds. Handles unbelievably in the groomed stuff and will make you feel as if you're on a pseudo-race board as it carves like a knife. Lively core helps you really snap out of turns. I highly recommend this board if you're looking specifically for a board that acts like an alpine board with the forgiveness of a freeride board. Not for the slow rider type.

I have ridden this board more than 10 times this year and it never ceases to amaze me how fast it is. The side cut allows me to dash at tree cut kickers at whim. I ride the 163 and is a super stable board at speed. It floated through the 16" powder at Mt. Baker on 12/19/01 like it was born to do it. The only down side is the cost but all high end decks are costly. Enjoy.
