Strength:
Very pleasant to ride, even on groomed slopes Quality construction Great concept
Weakness:
Weight System gets blocked by ice Not great on slanted slopes, especially when snow is hard Worried about strength of little "clip" when hard to close... SUPER board. Behaves great on groomed slopes as well, but heaven in soft powder. Some problems with ice, when returning the board to "riding" position, bindigs sometimes hard to close. A bit heavy because of bindings system, but that is the price to pay for a sturdy and reliable device. But this board will get you every where the white powder calls you. A DREAM ! Strength:
Narrower stance, great flex without giving up stability at high speed, holds an edge in icy conditions. Separates into wide fat ski's and motors up hills in the backcountry that true skiers can barely make it up without traversing. When in "snowboard mode" you wouldn't even know it is a split board - the ride is great!
Weakness:
Can be tough to change from skis to snowboard and back again - little red piece can snap off which doesn't render the board unrideable but makes it harder to reassemble(but burton sent us a replacement piece for free). Since you only have to do the switch once an outing when you stop going uphill and get ready to go down, it isn't that big a deal.. I've tried tbe Viole split and the ride in snowboard mode is nowhere near as good... This board is awesome! Backcountry access without sacrificing the ride. This is the first "women's" model board I've tried (currently riding Burton 158cm Cascade) and from the moment I tried it I noticed a difference in my turns. I'm now looking at the Face (non-split) version so I can ride this board all the time, inside and outside of the resort. Similar Products Used: Viole Burton Cascade Burton Supermodel |
