Strength:
Incredible in the deep stuff, skis provide good flotation and traction on the uphill, turns great for a board this size.
Weakness:
Takes some effort on steep, icy shots. I love this board and highly recommend it to anyone getting into backcountry boarding. I'm 6 foot 4 and 220 pounds and have had problems finding a board to keep me and my gear on top of the powder out here in Utah so this board is the perfect size for me. I think someone much smaller would be just as happy on it if they target mostly powder shots, it is surpisingly agile for its' size. The large skis make life easy on the ascent and the wide skins provide great traction. I use this board with clicker bindings(non high-backs) which work extremely well. I didn't enjoy the feel of strap-in bindings as they seemed to cut off circulation to my feet and the backs were somewhat cumbersome on kick-turns during the ascent. I have talked to some riders who have had good luck with plastic mountaineering boots and the plate adapters from Voile. Either way, this is the funnest deep powder board I have ever ridden and would buy the exact same board again. Similar Products Used: Smaller Voile split boards |
