Summary:
used these extensively on a trip in the rockies. great for mountaineering, design works beautifully to minimize snowballing. hardly ever happens unless in really wet snow. does work for basic waterfall ice (up to grade 3 or so). easy to adjust, very good all-around crampon.

Summary:
These are good, basic crampons that can be adjusted in the field (i.e. no seperate tools). I bought a pair to climb Mt. Shasta in early June and they worked quite well. Walking up 30 to 45 degree grades is quite comfortable as they are not too stiff. However, they also work well with short sections of 70 to 75 degree front point climbing.

Overall, they are a good all around set of crampons and they fit my size 13 Vasque Alpines even though the specs say otherwise.

Summary:
I have only had these crampons out a few times, but up to this point I am quite happy with them. The straps are incredibly stiff and hard to work with first couple of times out,But I found a little hair conitioner softened them up nicely.

They have nice flex when traveling up moderate snow or ice slopes, and the points seem very durable.A perfectly suitable crampon for moderate alpine climbs, coulouir climbs.I do not recomend for vertical ice,but most idiots would know that.Money well spent.

Customer Service:
REI always great
