Price Paid:  $145.00 at Bent Gate Mountaineering

Summary:
This is actually a review on the Rambo Comp Monos.
These things rock! It took me a while to get used to the mono point, but after I did, I'll never go back. It was a little interesting getting the curved frames to fit the boots at first, but that has been totally worked out. They lock on solidly and I've never had a concern about them popping off.
I would recommend running the front point on the shorter of the two settings as it'll keep your calves from pumping so fast.
My only concerns are that they don't yet sell anti-balling plates and that the rear points are too short to be useful for anything but climbing pillars.
Granted, that's what these are made for, but for vertical ice, side stepping can be a bit sketchy.

Summary:
I'm using the dual front point version. Don't know if it's be more the ice conditions or the crampons, but I find footwork with the Rambos to be much easier, much more secure. I usually get good placements on the first kick -- or the first two kicks. The aggressive secondary points seem to provide a stable base to stand on. The Rambos snap on quickly and feel very secure -- almost like part of my boot or part of my foot. I'm very pleased with this product.

Summary:
Excellent verticle ice crampons with aggressive front points that bite easily into hard ice. The front points are forged steel with a little horizontal flare at the back and although they are verticle front pints they don't sheer through soft ice and snow too easily. Shock absorbing bale.
