Summary:
These are great to tote along when you have the threat of ice higher up. Since they aren't step-ins, you have to make sure they will fit your boots before you buy them. They fit mine well as long as i tighten them up well. Of course I wouldnt rely on them for hardcore "mountaineering", but they are great for lightweight use.

Summary:
I've been satisfied with performance for the most part, as stated earlier I wouldnt go on extended outings especially if you would have to remove them several times, working the slack out of the lace is a bit of a pain, but day-hikes where you need a bit of added protection, these are an affordable option.

Summary:
I do not recommend these crampons at all. Their "user friendly" design causes them to be unreliable. Tightening them relys on one long strap that snakes all around. This allows all the strap stretching to work its way around to the area with the most pressure on it. Working this slack out means backtracking through all the loops to the buckle. This still does not take care of the problem. Coupled with the imprecise fit of the plastic heel and toe bails, this got downright dangerous. While traversing, my toes kept sliding out laterally. Every few steps I had to bang them back into place with my axe. Several times, my toe shot out entirely, leaving me in a precarious spot (high winds and rockfall) with this mangled contraption attached to the bottom of my boot. Several times I got caught by gusts while straightening things out and was forced to self-arrest while tumbling down the mountain. I finally decided that it was too risky to have the crampons let go and tangle my feet up in those conditions. I took them off and got back to basecamp by hopping down a steep field of suncups under a rockfall run-out. Basically, I risked getting hit by falling boulders (there were some near misses)rather than rely on these crampons to extricate myself from a nasty weather change.

Summary:
I use these on day hikes in the local mountains. My gortex hikers step in easily and the fit fine. They articulate with the boot and I have never felt like I would step out of them. All in all a good pair for day use. Would not recommend for extended mountaineering.
