I've had these boots for a couple of years now and they've held up great. They fit my feet well right out of the box - no blisters, even when I was still breaking them in. I've used them for everything from hot summer hiking in Yosemite to slogging through the rain along California's northern coast to kicking steps in the snow while climbing Mt. Shasta (side note: if you plan do do this often, get some real mountaineering boots). I've never had any problems with the support or durability of the boots, though at times I wish that I had bought the Gore-tex version - I've often gotten mine waterlogged (my own fault) and they take a while to dry out. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: old Salomon hiking boots - comfy as hell, lightweight, but not nearly as durable as these Asolos. I don't think Salomon makes true backpacking boots any more. |

When trying several different boots on, these were by far the best fit right out of the box. Much better than the Vasques. Since buying them about a year ago, I've taken them on 2 healthy backpacking trips and a few day hikes. I spent about 2 weeks breaking them in beforehand. Good boot, definitely waterproof (goretex version). No blisters at all, even after a few very long days. I usually chew through soles pretty fast, but these have held up fairly well. The main problem I have with these boots is the poor ankle support. After a few slips in snowy/icy terrain, the leather uppers of my boots were creased from bending. Overall: nice boots, but for $200, I'm hoping to find better next time. Customer Service NA Similar Products Used: NA |

Strength:
None
Weakness:
None These are treating my pretty well. When I bought them the fit was perfect, but with lots of use (2 years and id guess over 600 miles) the leather has streched enough in the toe area that my narrow feet move from side to side causing some discomfort. I plan on getting some new insoles to remedy this. They are waterproof from the outside, but keep them clean or you will soak them from the inside, that is to say that the breathability is par/sub par. Since I bought them, I have substantially lightened my packweight and these +4 pound whoppers are overkill. With that said, I would definately buy another asolo product, just a lighter one. Originally bought Vasque MX2's. On 1st hike (an easy 2 mile hike without packs), the foot lining slipped forward during downhills descents - very painful for my toes. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: None |

I've purchase a 6" tall Hi-Tec Magnum since 5 years ago. I'm still pleased with the boots. I've got serious hurt of my left ankle before, but still no worries for long walk or chase bus with them. It's amazing that I wear them for hike or even shopping for whole day long never sit. But my feet still not feel so tired compare with other basketball shoes. Similar Products Used: None |

My son sprang his ankle badly on a trip to Snow Mass Mountain. The boots fits perfectly and are very comfortable. But the support of the upper on this boot proved to be very weak. We've demoted these boots down to daily treks and they're no longer used on the trails or for backpacking. Similar Products Used: I Found the Zamberlan Civetta |

I've had these boots for about 3 years For me, the fit is PERFECT. I am concerned, however, about long-term durability. My 3 years of use actually is only a few times a month. In reality they see fewer than 30 real trail days (serious hiking or packing 50 lbs. plus 200 of me) annually. Still, I had to send my 1st pair back after the Gortex leaked after 1 year; the stiching also started to fray but was basically solid. My present of pr. of 3 years is still completely waterproof (Yes!!), but the stitching is falling apart. I'm now also concerned about the midsole problems some have mentioned, although no obvious signs of disaster yet. Similar Products Used: None |

I bought these boots about a year ago for a backpacking trip I was going on in the Smokey Mtns. of North Carolina. Since it can be wet there, I opted for the AFX 520 II (Gortex) boots. Right off the bat, the felt a lot more comfortable than other boots I had tried on, mainly Vasque. Feeling all has to do with personal preference and the shape and size of your foot, but for me, the Asolos felt more comfortable. Once I had broken them in, they felt great! They kept my feet completely dry through streams, bushwacking, etc. Breathability is not amazing, but its a trade-off when you get full grain leather boots which are a lot more durable and,in my opinion, etter looking than the other options. I didn't get one blister on my intense two week trip, and have been happy with them ever since. Even put them through snow and a hurricane, and they have stayed waterproof! Worth every penny, but you gotta find what fits you best. Customer Service I haven't had to deal with Asolo, but I went to their website and it was super unclear...dealing with them might be a problem 'cause I think they are based overseas but they seem bombproof enough to not worry too much about it. Similar Products Used: Vasque...great boots but the Asolos personally fit me better. But try them out, they seemed quite well made! |

I bought a pair of these before I went back packing in Colorado. I made a mistake by buying them on;y a few days before we left. They were not broken in before we started our trip, I was worried because i knew that I was going to be wearing these for the next two weeks. To my suprise, I never got a blister of any kind on my feet. I bought my first pair because they fit my feet better than other brands, I will buy my next because I know no matter what I do to them, they will never let me down. Similar Products Used: None |
