Excellent boots. Purchased them on a Thursday, took a 3 day backpacking trip in Mt. Rainer, with no problems at all. Similar Products Used: None |

I wear a 13/4E New Balance running shoe and the Lowa Renegade GTX Mid hiking boot (size 13) was a perfect fit for hiking. Break in time was immediate and they are holding up well under normal Appalachian Trail conditions. Similar Products Used: None |

This is an excellent boot for backpacking. Overall, they are very comfortable and provide good water-proofing with the Goretex lining. I have mainly used them for short trips (3 days), and they have held up well. Similar Products Used: Vasque Clarion Impact |

Great boots. I bought these in a mad panic about a week before a one month trip to South Africa--I'd grown out of my heavier boots and the prospect of buying and breaking in a pair of full-grain leathers in Africa wasn't too enticing. Turns out I made a fantastic choice--these had absolutely no break in time, were incredibly supportive in carrying a 30 pound pack through the mountains on a 50 mile trek. They withstood water (standing in stream water) without even a thought of getting my feet wet. And, I even went on a 4 mile run (yes, an actual run) wearing these--this I wouldn't recommend, but I could never have done that with full-grain leathers. Very light. Final word: For most casual backpackers, this boot is plenty--opt for this over the heavier, more expensive leathers. For long trails and heavy loads, I had to buy another pair of full grain leather boots. Similar Products Used: None |

I ordered these boots for an upcoming Grand Canyon hike and after wearing them a couple days around town, they felt so comfortable that I was worried they wouldn't be supportive enough under extreme conditions. Boy was I wrong. I would never have guessed that a boot so light and springy would be great to trudge down the unmaintained and rock-strewn Hermit Trail. I had 40 pounds on my back for the entire hike into and almost that on the hike out of the canyon. Never a blister, or even a hot spot. I was amazed. The height of the boot was right, it gave me great ankle support without restricting mobility. There were many rocks that my foot didnt land quite square on and I might have turned an ankle without these boots. I also walked quite a bit through Hermit Spring on the way to the colorado rapids. Never got wet feet and had great traction on all surfaces. I can't give all the credit to the boot though, I was wearing a great pair of Thor-Lo socks that I think helped out with comfort and breatheability as well. I did not use sock liners. Overall a great boot. As good as many that cost alot more. Customer Service None needed. Boots are in perfect shape. Similar Products Used: Cabela's Taiga GTX (great boot) |

I got these boots a year ago because they were so comfortable. I have enjoyed their comfort ever since. I have taken them on countless day hikes and a few 4-5 day backpacking trips and they keep my feet comfortable and completely blister free each time. They kept my feet dry even when I stepped into shallow streams. Highly recommended. Similar Products Used: None |

I've had these boots for two years, and i love them! they were immediately comfortable, no break in time. I bought them on a wednesday or thurday, and the next weekend i went out and climbed mt. Elbert in them. they were extremely comfortable, and dry. The seams near the ball of my foot are coming undone, but that's expected with as much as i wore them. the waterproofness is not affected by the seams coming undone, as the gortex is on the inside. I'll be getting another pair exactly like these this sprint. (due to growing feet, not wear and tear of the boots) Customer Service nothing has gone wrong with them, so i haven't had to deal with customer service Similar Products Used: None |

Purchased these boots two days ago at REI. Given I'm a pretty cautious boot shopper and REI allows you to try 'em and if you don't like 'em, return them, I've tromped around hard in these Lowas for two days, side hilling, steep ascents/descents, snow, ice, water. My foot is narrow at the heel, wide below the toes, high arch. No break in time at all. However, to lock my heel in I had to tighten up the laces to the point of hurting on the top bridge of my foot. Thus, the quandy - loose heel, comfortable top of foot, or snug fit on heel and sore top of foot. I'll be taking them back tomorrow. That aside, however, they grip fairly well on snow/ice once they acclimate to cold temps. Roomy inside the toe box. I used an REI insert for extra support - seemed to help. They're worth a look. No water leakage. Little more flex in the sole than I'm used to. Nice and light. Customer Service Much appreciative of REI's willingness to work with you/take boots back if they don't work for you. Worth an extra buck or two if it helps you get the right fit for the long run. Similar Products Used: Raichle |
