This is a good backpacking bag for 3 season use in most areas. I think the temp rating is optimistic at 15-30 degrees, 30-40 is more accurate unless you're a very warm sleeper, or you sleep with long underwear, etc. The fit is tight, but not too bad if you're average build. The only other fault is that the zipper jams fairly easily. TNF stuff seems to be the easiest brand to find on sale, so you should be able to get one for less than list price. I got mine 30% off.

a fine product. i am pretty gentle on most of my gear but with close to 500 nights out in the last 15 years i am amazed it is still with me. the 20 deg temp boundary is a bit liberal but combined with a gore-tex bivy sack and or some polypro underwear it has seved me down to zero F on a number of occasions. cannot be beat based on size/weight limitations.

Good and comfortable sleeping bag. Great for mild climates. It is a little small and tight inside.

Reasonably priced, extremely compressable, durable and warm enough for 3 seasons. It could be cut just a little broader however that would add weight. It's very difficult to find fault in this product.

Customer Service

TNF had the best costumer service I had ever delt with but I haven't had to deal with them in years. I hope it hasn't changed.

Good overall quality as usual for The noth face stuff. Little tight for a stocky built person like me. But still fits well.

Customer Service

I've had stuff repaired by the company. They have one of the best service.

Bought the Blue Kazoo in 1998 (~$160) for a three month trip through the Himalayas. Was great at temps above 15 F and below 60F. Good lining which I do not get tangled up in. The zipper has a tendency of hanging up in the material. The fabric seems to hold those musty travel odors too easily - solved by hanging the bag out in the fresh air more frequently. Packs very well in a compact stuff sack which is provided.

A great little classic three season bag. I have had one for almost ten years and while it has been resigned to being used for keeping warm watching TV in the winter, it has remained a favorite. I have had other more recent NF bags that have had some serious quality control problems but I have not noticed this with the Blue Kazoo. I actually visited the manufacturing facility in China for North Face and many other outdoor lines where the shells are assembled and I don't know why quality varies so much between manufacturers and different models, but it does. With this bag being on sale quite often it is a great value. I am an average sleeper, not too warm or cool and the 20 rating for this bag seemed to me just a little optimistic as do the other temp ratings for NF bags. With so many variables going into the ability to stay warm at night my experience with the bag could be very different than yours.

A great deal on a down sleeping bag.
I've stayed warm and cozy in my Blue Kazoo 20 when friends were freezing their butts off in lesser bags that were supposed to be good down to 0 degrees.
You do have to take good care of it, though. Mine's slowly leaking down feathers, and it won't do it all in wet weather!

I bought this based on a friends recommendation and have been thrilled with it. It is extremely comprtable. The only downside I could see with it is, as I am fialry broad shouldered, it sometimes feels cramped in the upper torso area, but not uncomfortably so. Otherwise a great bag.

This is a great all around bag. I've used in teperatures ranging from the low 30's to the mid 80's and was always comfortable. The bag has open baffles so you can move the down from the top to the bottom & vice versa depending on the temperature. I've not had a problem yet with the zipper catching on the fabric yet but I'm pretty careful when I zip it up. Compressability was a big factor for me when purchasing this bag because I do a lot of bike touring and I need it as small as I can get it. This bag compresses down smaller than a loaf of bread! I'm 5'11"" with a medium buid & the long version of this bag fit me best. This bag is on sale often so look around. I bought mine for $155 and the regular version was $10 less.
