I love this sleeping bag. I can't thank The North Face enough for making it, and its a great value! Its a great bag for anyone in cool conditions, but it isn't great in warm weather.

Owned this bag for about two years, couldn't go about a normal Backpacking life without it. I have treid it down to about 15 degrees and wound up quite hot in the night and mornings. I would feel safe with it down to zero degrees.

Customer Service

The North Face company warrantees their gear for a lifetime which makes them one of the best companies for technical gear.

I have an older version; its lasted through 7+ years of extremely rough use. Had to get a zipper replaced once, and its gotten a rip or two.(younger sibling) But overall with a thermarest, fresh pair of socks, and a wool hat, this bag has kept me very warm. Not alot of use below +15F weather though. The durability has been excellent despite rough use.

The new 3D shell is a great advance in this classic bag, but makes compressability tought, as it holds air in. This bag certainly does not pack down to the size of a down bag, but is a good product if down isn't your thing.
The 3D shell is perhaps overkill, since the synthetic fill will still keep you warm when wet, and it has added a bit to the price. Don't pay full price for this bag though. You should be able to find it on sale somewhere.

We have two of these bags and they are great. We've used them on Rainier, Gannett, Granite and a host of other places including some winter nights in Olympics Nat'l Park. They are light weight, warm and durable. I highly recommend them.

This bag is more versatile than any other I've used. On warm summer evenings it is not a cooker and yet it excels at cold temps. I've used in on Mt Rainier in 5-10 degree temps and did not get cold.

Great Bag, I have never been cold. The only knock that I have on it is that I bought one that had the fleece lining and it get a little hot in the summer months.
