I can't recommend this bag. It's supposed to have a 15 degree rating, but when I stayed with a friend in his house in the mountains, I was cold at 45 degrees. I found the hood uncomfortable as well, and it wins the award for the Snaggiest Zipper On Earth hands down. On top of that, the filling went completely flat in two months, before I even washed it once.

Back in Europe I have two very cheap sleeping bags, and while they are not as high tech as the Cat's Meow, they perform exactly as promised. I can't say that about the Cat's Meow, unfortunately.

In the end I went back to the shop where I bought it, and they gave me my money back.

Customer Service

No experience, and I don't want any. Customer service is no substitute for poor design and a lack of quality control.

-Gosport 30 degree bag (French). 30 dollars, not light, but performs as promised
-LLBean Summit 20 degrees bag. I like it. Worked fine with temperatures in the high twenties.

Comfortable bag, unless you're looking to sleep outside. I took my +20 bag with me in Alaska in June and it was about 40 degrees outside. I seriously considered getting out of my bag, getting out of the tent and speeding up my imminent death with exposure to the elements.

Other than that one night, though, I've had no problems and have loved it. It can be dangerous if the fill clumps and I can't say that I trust it entirely anymore.

my cat's meow came with a thermorest, so it was a really good buy. Its a very comfertable bag, and the 15 degree rating is good for most all weather. The watch pocket is a good idea. the regualar is a bit big on me. Im 5'7". Its one of the best bags out there. It looks hot too.

Small, tight, tiny foot box. Froze to death in SC on a rainy January night. Some zipper problems, but that was my fault- don't ever totally unzip it. The zipper did snag on the lining. New lining does not hold sand. If you are a big person, or have big feet this is not the bag for you

A+ rating. I've had no problems yet, (no rips or zipper snags) and have used this bag in a variety of climates. Anywhere from the hot and rainy climates of Florida to cold and arid climates of northern Arizona in winter. (Excellent Product!)
I only have two reservations about this product:
1. When tightly compressed the loft is sometimes difficult to retain.
2. The bag can be a little warm, so bring a blanket and sleep on top!

I've been extremely happy with this bag. I got mine on sale at 25% off retail of $160. Polarguard 3D is extremely compressable and warm. I've slept comfortably down to about 15 degress without the hood, so it would be fine for me down to around 5 degrees, but I wouldn't push it. It's my one and only bag used for backpacking and car camping. The weight is OK at 3 lb. 4 oz. for the regular size.

I bought a Cat's Meow last year for $110 and immediately it became my one and only three-season bag (in the summer, I use it more as a quilt and just lay it over me and sleep directly on the air mattress - great to be able to toss and turn, just like at home! ;-) The top shell is water repellent, the 3D insulation is "warm when wet" (or more accurately, less cold when wet than down), and the workmanship and features (like the watch pocket by your head - I *have* missed an alarm when it went off on my watch while on my wrist buried way down in the bag) are all top notch.

This bag is the Cat's Meow. I have used it in dry but cold conditions, a switch from my usual cold and wet. The temperature rating is conservative, though I am a warm sleeper. My only gripe is it's a little tight through the chest. Since I got it for only $119 I consider it an excellent value. It's light enough that I will not forgo the warm when wet advantage that is lost with a down bag.

I've used my Cat's Meow for 10 years, and although it seems to have lost some of its heft (from use and the occasional, much-needed cleaning), it still keeps me warm in all but the coldest winter temps, even when wet. This older version was only rated to 20 degrees, but I've stayed comfortable in the low teens. Because of its age, I don't use it in the dead of winter anymore, but it has been a great bag for backpacking and car camping. For the $100 that I paid for it, it has been an exceptional value.

Customer Service

Never had any problems with my bag, but had great service on a repair on a TNF backpack. Good service, no problems.

Good all around bag, in PA it is adequate for almost the entire year except for dead of summer and dead of winter. For is a great deal for the price. I've had it for over three years now and still holding up well
