pre 3D Cats Meow. Poor bag for extended use. Nice bag in the shop: cool colors and comfy inner fabric, stuff that NF does well. Stitching failed near drawstring and at foot box after one season.

Customer Service

NF replaced bag on warantee pretty fast.

This bag has lived through quite a bit and has not complained yet. Ran over by a truck, left in the back of a pick-up during storm (it was me or the bag...) and various dog naps. I would buy another one-It is not the new 3D-I've had this bag for 5 years...

I've had my Cat's Meow since a 200 mile bike tour through Australia in 1989. They lightweight and small size has made this bag ideal for light loads, warm weather camping. I don't use it for cold weather, and I'm sure to use a waterproof sack if I take it canoeing. I've been very pleased with the durability and features. My wife even has the mirror version so that we can zip 'em together--a very nice feature of most North Face bags. I you have the same needs, I highly recommend it.

This is a great basic sleeping bag for 3-season use. The only thing I would add is a draft collar to keep out cold air that comes in when you roll over. It's a good value, but REI or EMS make similar models at a lower price. Some of these don't seem as well constructed as products from TNF, Marmot or Mountain Hardware, but at least one REI model that I've seen seems to be made in the same factory or with the same construction as the TNF sleeping bag. Materials used were a little cheaper.

Customer Service

The North Face has been excellent with their customer service. Repairs are handled quickly and they do what it takes to keep their customers happy.

This bag has served me well over the last 6 years or so (I don't have the 3D version). I have used it extensively for backpacking, and snowcaving with a fleece liner. It has holds up well and it packs down light and small. I especially like the fact that it was on sale for $80 !!! Anyways a great bag that works well for just about anything.

Great bag, I made it through 4 nights in blizzard conditions on Mt Shasta with this bag and a bivy. With a sleeping pad it is a real warm bag, probably better than the 15 degrees it is rated to.

Customer Service

Best warranty in the biz.

I have used this bag for over two years and have never been dissapointed. I have used it throughtout the Rockies in early spring at 12 to 13,000 ft. and up in Yosemite in late fall at Tioga Pass. It has far exceded my expectations when it has keep me warm down to 10 degrees. The only thing is that if your tall and broad sholdered you can feel a bit cramped for space. I'm 6'3", 210 but for the money and performance you can't beat this reliable bag.

I love my Cat's Meow! It is super comfy and packs to a very small and lightweight size. It is very warm, however, I don't really advise this bag for use without a thermarest when temperatures drop below 20-25F. The length is perfect for me, and I am a side-sleeper, so the width is great for that. I only wish the drawstring would pull tighter around my face on those especially cold nights.

I am always cold at night and this sleeping bag kept me exceptionally warm. I have been looking for a good bag like this for a long time. I am short, 5'3 and it sometimes makes it hard to find a bag that's warm enough with all the access space I leave. I got mine on sale and it was worth every penny.

I have the 3D bag which has more warmth per pound than any other bag I've used(borrowed). I switched from "down" when I realized the humidity in the eastern U.S. was a major problem. This bag wet will keep you warm and alive. A wet "down" bag is hypothermia waiting to happen. Its more bulkier and heavier than a "down" bag but a damp "down" bag will weigh much more and will take a long time to dry.
A potentially great all-season bag if you use pad and tent and not camped out on Mt Washington in January. Ive been in 10 deg with wind, and was warm enough.

Customer Service

Called NF about swapping the zipper with the newer universal zipper. They would do it with no charge. You can't beat that.
