Very durable product that works as advertised. I purchased this unit used from a friend and I'll tell you it still works like new w/ no defects. Althouh I am just a one day hiker / camper. Fuel is cheap and works wonderful. I would recommend to a friend.

I was reluctant to get a canister stove but I was tire of taking my white gas stove car camping. I use this for overnights and car camping and it works great. I wouldn't recommend it for serious backpacking though. I am still not sold on cartrigdes. Overall it is a good stove but flimsy.

The peak is a great, compact, lightweight, easy to use, and maintain stove. It is hot burning at altitude so that you can always get a quick meal.

A great stove! I used MSR's firefly for years and finally got fed up with white gas. My brother got this stove when it first came out a few years ago and never had any problems--even in 0 degree weather. I have only used mine on two trips (five days each), but so far it has performed flawlessly. It fires up instantly, gives great heat output on the high end, and is easily lowered to a simmer if needed. The fuel bottles even crush down flat when you finish them. I don't think my MSR will be getting any more use.

I bought this bad boy when it first came out, after Backpacker reviewed it and gave it an editor's choice award, and haven't been disappointed at all! It burns hot and bright to the end, boils water in a jiffy, and does everything I ask it too! I took it for a week into Utah, and have taken it numerous times on the AT, and never had a problem. I would recommend it to anyone at all.

I've used this stove for various day-hikes and 2 day trips and have been pleased with it's performance. Lightweight, fast, and easy to use. 2 complaints: Availability of the fuel and it's a little noisier then I thought it would be. Overall, a good deal for the money.

This is a GREAT stove I have been using it fiercily for the last year and a half. You can bake with it due to it's superior simmer feature it works great in cold weather, on the beach in sand, in the rain, you can spill water on it , smash it, freeze it, but it just keeps working. I haven't had to replace a thing on it. If you don't have this stove yet buy one you won't regret it.

Customer Service

When I first got the stove I turned that big nob the wrong way and stripped it. Cole man however replaced the stove with out a problem.

Beleive the other reviews. I haven't found anything wrong with this stove. It's as light as a white gas stove and performs nearly as well. Cold doesn't slow it much, and it's much better and cheaper to run than the competion. The Xtreme is lighter but at a lose of stability. You won't be disappointed. Take care not to kink the braided line at it ends. I think newer stoves have a rubber flex guard at these points.

This stove is very reliable and sturdy. It has a strong base and is very user friendly. I will never go back to white gas. The fuel may be a little more expensive, but you do not have to wait for it to heat up, just turn it on and cook. The fuel bottles are lightwight and take little space when empty and compacted.
