Strength:
None
Weakness:
None Plus: 2 XT is roomy for 1 or cozy for 2 (consider 3 XT for regular use by 2 people). Dual doors & vestibules MAKE this tent. Adequate ventilation. Full coverage fly keeps dew off bottom edge of tent. Bright yellow color is good for camping in deer season, but not too garish; I havn''t noticed it attracting bugs. Lots of pockets, tie-backs, loft loops, little details. Fly works well at keeping insides dry. Light, backpackable, sets up fast. Well made. Minus: Buckles have slipped off fly cords while I''m setting up and are hard to find. Could use a peg loop on each of the long sides, things creep in a little. More zips than Joey Ramone''s jacket, gets confusing at 3am. Bottom line: It gives me a lot of options for solo or near-solo weekends away from the family and the family dome tent. Car camp or backpack, it works. Hot or cold, it opens up or holds out the wind. Plenty of room for boots, bike shoes, dirty bike shorts under the vestibules. Near perfection at a reasonable price.? The Apex XT is a great tent for one person who camps primarily from early spring to early fall. I have had it for 2 to 3 years and it has held up well. Similar Products Used: A real crappy tent from the Price Club advertised as a Kelty when it is not. Avoid all tents from K-mart, Target, etc unless they are Eureka or Camp Trails (made by Eureka). Being in college and working part time as cook do not allow me the luxury of buying soley on performance and features. Though I will never buy something that I feel is not suitable for my intended uses, price plays a large role. I wanted the Apex XT to fail; I wanted to prove that you have to shell out serious green for real quality. It IS real quality. In the past year, it has survived pacific rainstorms, frigid fall nights in the Sierras at 8-10,000ft and more recently, a trip to the Trinity Alps Wilderness by Mt. Shasta(which would have been impossible without snoeshoes were it not for an unusually little amount of snowfall so far this season). I would not use this tent for mountaineering or Similar Products Used: The North Face Peregrine, REI Half Dome |

I have been using the Apex XT tent for 3 years. Over the course of its life, this tent has been an outstanding performer at altitudes ranging from 5,000 to 12,000 ft. It has endured hailstorms, torrential rain, and wind, and to date has never leaked a drop of moisture on the interior. The dual doors and vestibules are excellent, yet the vestibule size could be a bit larger. All in all, it is a great tent to own, and I would recommend it to anyone seeking quality and value in an alpine tent. Customer Service Customer service was excellent when I asked them to replace a set of poles which splintered under normal use. The tent was OK, but as someone else pointed out, it is hard to get in and out of because the opening does not go to the floor. I felt the material for the floor was thin too, but I guess that is to save weight. Goes together fast enough, but I think the bugs like the bright yellow color too much. It is really fine for two people, especially that both have there own door. That is the nicest thing about it. Nice buckles to aid in assembly. Customer Service Had to have another pole and customer service took good care of me. Similar Products Used: None |

This tent was the best deal I could find, purchased at local outdoors store for $90. I found it to be very capable. fabric is a bit light, and I agree with previous reviews that the bugs love the yellow cover. I like the double door feature, but would prefer a larger door or with a lower opening to make it easier to get in and out of. It would be a bit heavy for backpacking, but for daily car camping it is just fine. Similar Products Used: None |

I use this tent primarily for car camping in CO at bike races and for weekend excursions. It's been really good to me so far. I've been out with this tent where it rained all the time for 3 day weekends with no problems. I like the hooks for extra storage. The dual vestibule is also very nice. Goes together well, also. I'm not the world's most avid camper, so this tent is all I really need. Similar Products Used: None |

GREAT TENT. Went in a fishing trip in Northeastern TN in April with plenty of rain and this tent held up very well. I'm trying to find another one for my son. I bought this one for him to take on Boy Scout campouts but like it too much to give up. He'll get one someday!! This tent is light and easily set up. Nice full fly with two vestabules and two doors. You can't go wrong for the money. Similar Products Used: None |

A good solid tent. Holds up pretty well in the wind. No problems with the rain or anything else with the tent. The double exit is great when sleeping two. Similar Products Used: None |
