The tent is an exceptional value. For beginner campers and backpackers, this tent is a great choice. It is easy to set up. It works well in rainy, windy weather. The vestibule provides cover for other gear that is too big to put in the tent. However, the vestibule does attract bugs, as does the fabric tent pole guides. I have to clean insects, especially earwigs, out of the guides before packing the tent up.

Champion performance during the only snow this fall. Held up real well when it dropped to about 10 degrees, keeping us warm

This has excellent features and will outperform any tent in it's price range. Will bend under high wind but price and weigth more than make up for it.

Excellent value I would recommend to beginning backpackers. Only drawback is poor rigidity in strong winds. Inherent in its' design, the structure collapses (but does not fail) in +35mph gusts. Although, the cost/value far exceeds this drawback.

Got the XT for x-mas '99. IT RULES! I am sure glad that "Santa" got this one for me as opposed to the sierra clip flashlight I was seriously looking at. The XT has two nice big vestibules and doors, and has plenty of room for two. Its also fairly light for carrying this tent by yourself. All of my Boy-Scout buds love the tent and are always offering to tent w/ me as opposed to sleeping in the bulky Troop provided Timberlines!

I'm on my third year with the tent and its still functioning fine. roomy and with the two doors my son and I don't wake each other up with out trips "to nature" at night. when i use it as a solo the back door serves a great place to store and keep dry the gear.

sets up quickly - and has withstood the test of time.

Bought my Apex XT last year for car camping/Boy scouts and it works out just great.Best all around tent I have owned yet.Good for warm nights because of both doors and was warm enough for a week in Colorado.Remember to use all the guy ties when the wind kicks up. Good job Eureka.

This tent (2XT)is a good value for an entry level tent. Mine has performed very well, is easy to set up and hasn't leaked ai all. I haven't been in a high wind situation yet. I really like the double doors and vestibules especially when two people are in the tent. The bright color can be a little too bright for sleeping when the sun doesn't go down in the summer. For the price you can't beat this tent.

I recently purchased the 3XT model from Campmor(the 3 person version)in hopes to gain more floor space. They are the only distributor to carry that model that I have found. Great price as well. However my wife and I intend to take our children with us on occasion and after setting up the tent in the backyard it became apparant that the quality probably would not hold up to a lot of traffic. The double doors are great for added ventilation but are at least 10-12"" of the ground which makes a difficult entrance and exit because of the added height you need to step. For small children its a face-plant waiting to happen. The extended fly provids 2 vestibules adequate for storing packs and muddy shoes and seems to cover the tent quite well. Set-up is quick and one person can do it no problem. I ended up returning the tent and opting for the Jupiter from Sierra Designs for just a few dollars more. I figured the aluminium pole system and higher quality ripstop nylon (vs Taffeta)along with the pack weight would be a better deal. For enrty level camping it's not a bad deal and Campmor has a great price at $149.00

I have the 3XT (three man model). It is easy and quick to set up with one person. Good ventilation. I really like having the two vestibules for storing junk outside. Having two doors is handy when housing more than one person. I have not used it in high winds or rain yet, so I cannot vouch for those qualities. A very good value for the money.
