Excellent tent! Even though the seams are taped at the factory, I still sealed the non-taped sides of the seams (this should be done on every tent). I love the double doors and the two vestibules, even though they add extra weight. It will sag and need adjustment if it starts to rain, but most tents will. Sagging can be eliminated by using all of the tie-outs. I have used it for three years now and it is the best backpacking tent that I have ever owned. I bought aluminum poles to use for winter camping since they will not snap in the cold. It was cheaper than buying the Mountain Pass XT which is the same except for the poles. I would have paid much more for it, but the low price was an extra bonus. I am going to purchase the 4 person for canoe camping.

Great tent for the money, but it does have some drawbacks. If you are going to be a fair weather backpacker you will have no problems. But remember this is a three season tent that is not designed for four season life. I love the two doors and how each person have their own vestibule. The size of the tent is great for the weight of it. Beware seal the fly good. Not just one time seal it let it dry and then seal it 2 or 3 more times before using this tent. I also have some buddy's who have this same tent within one year all 3 of our tents had a pole fail. The metal sleeve that the fiberglass pole slides into just split down the seams where it was made. Carry a splint!!! Every time this happened though was in cold weather. (Below Freezing) Fly is also to close to the tent and when it gets wet it will touch the tent then it comes the water and moisture. This is still a good tent for the money but don't expect to go on a expedition with it.

Never used after pole broke I new it was time for a better tent, so I bought a Mountain Hardwear Nightview.

This was my first 'real' tent. I might have expected too much from it. I had leakage problems from other cheapie tents and hoped this one would solve that, but it didn't. For some reason, Eureka doesn't believe in waterproofing their rainflys very well, and immediately after the first good rain the fly material itself started leaking through, not just the seams. So, with the advice of my local camping store, I seam sealed and re-polyurethaned the inside of the fly. This didn't work very well, and just made things very sticky from then on.

The fly also comes in contact with the tent itself, making things even more wet.

This tent was an awesome value and works out awesome for my weekend excursions. It would be a bit heavy for a week long trip I think but it works great so far for my use. In heavy rain the water sprays through the rain fly zippers sometimes. It is a 3 season tent but I took it on a snow trip to Shining Rock and there were blizzard conditions. The tent got cold so we packed snow all over the tent and got back in, we were sweating within minutes. The vestibules could be bigger if I had my way. And getting out of the tent through the vestibule can be tricky sometimes. Overall this tent is the bomb, my buddies are always astounded when they hear how much I got it for.

Actually a friends tent, but I have used it several times. A great value for the price. Very waterproof, especially is seam-sealed by the user. I like the two doors, you don't have to crawl over each other to get in and out and both users have their own vestibule larg enough for a large pack and pair of boots, plus some extra gear. Plenty of room inside for two grown men to be comfortable. Well ventilated, too. The only problem I've experienced in 3 years is with a cracked pole joint.

Customer Service

Cracked pole, didn't even ask for a free one, it was only $5 to replace.

This tent has never given me any problems. I love the fact that it has two doors and a relatively low packing weight. For the price, it can't be beat.
