its cozy cool fun and warm own only the 2 door i;m sure the single door model would not be as fun. its good for that old fashion traditional feeling of the standard a-frame.

The most important thing about this tent is its durability. In my experience, as well as friends cross-country we all agree that this tent will last forever. The only problem I have ever had with mice is that the seams need to be sealed ofted. (But that is part of owning a tent)

I wouldn't take this tent on an extended backpacking trip, but it will work for just about anything else.

After owning a Timberline 2 for 20 years I upgraded to the 4. Great for car camping and a breeze to set up. I did have it blow down on me onetime in an amazing windstorm but keep me dry another time when it rained all night and most of the next day. Nothing special about this tent, it's old reliable just like the 2.

Bought my timberline 4 in 1980 and have been using it for 20 years. Back in 1975-78 in boy scouts our troop used timberline 2 tents. Tent is easy to set-up and break down even in wind. Zippers have gotten stuck, but never wasn't able to reverse and free it. Has always been very dry and good in the wind. The only problems I have ever had were the flap over the zipper (loop of fabric) filled with water like a tube in a severe storm before I seam sealed the stiches and in WI during a major thunderstorm a couple of years ago I had a pole bend (worst wind gust I had ever seen), but was able to straighten it by hand get back to bed and it has been fine since. The only reason I am reading reviews is as the family has grown we no longer fit. Great tent for the money. Used to backpack with it and would split the components between 2-3 of us. A little heavy for one or even two persons.

Was given a 6 person White Stag family dome tent 2 months ago and it gets wet in driving rain and have had its fiberglass poles invert on top of me twice (in 5 camping trips). Am buying Eureka Equinox 6 this week!

Have had several Timberline 4 tents and always had excellent usage out of them. Endured 50 mph winds in Colby, KS and Snow storm in Blackhawk, CO. As long as you tie down all sides and use bungee cords tie downs, it will not budge. Place tent with winds hitting the sides instead of the front/back doors! Also place plastic under tent. I have owned others that the poles bent and broke in high winds. Eureka's didn't!!

I think that this is a great beginner camp. It's very durable and the price is excellent. The only down side is that it's a bit too heavy. Other wise, Great product!!!

O'kay, its not the world's lightest most well-made tent. That's not what you buy the timberline for. If you want a dependable, easy to set up tent for occasional camp outs I just don't think you can do better than the timberline 4. I've been in some pretty severe weather with mine and stayed cozy and dry. You need to give some thought to which way the wind is blowing however. If you bend a pole you can get a new one for seven bucks at walmart. (although I've never had that problem) Of course the tent doesn't fit four people, but for two or even three its great. No bells or whistles--just straight forward, cheap and dependable.

I have used the Eureka! Timberline 2 and 4-person tents for years. They are not backpacking tents, but are great values for car camping, canoe trips, and other trips where weight is not a great concern. Their greatest value, to me, is in the ease of set-up. One person can easily put up the 4-person tent in no time. Very functional and sturdy, and a super value for the price.

Though I would not use this tent for backpacking because of its weight, it is a great tent for 2 adults and a child when car camping or on short hikes. I've had my tent for about 10 years and it is one of the most weather worthy tents I've owned. It's easy to set up and at age 8, my son and a buddy were able to set it up by themselves.

Customer Service

After 6 years of use, a whole wore through the tent fly from rubbing with the poles, I contacted Eureka and they immediately sent me a repair kit at no charge, I used it to repair the damage and reinforce the opposite side. Very good service.

This tent was recommended by many friends I go camping with. They were right!. This is a nice tent desinged for causal outdoor trips. A liitle on the heavy side but durable. Alot of bang for the buck.
