This tent is incredible. I can't say enough about the value you get with this tent. $180 for a tent that sets up in well under three minutes with a little practice. I've set this tent up in a full rainstorm in NC in under two minutes, didn't have time to lay a ground tarp, and spent the whole night and next two days completely dry while all my friends got soaked in their $400 North Face tents. Great tent even if it cost twice what it does.

exellent tent. A little more wieght than most tents of this style but the extra room it gives you while waiting out a storm is worth it. The rain fly tends to collect condensation but a oversized ground cloth helps.

My favorite tent when solo backpacking. I love the room and the easy set-up. The fly can get a bit droopy when wet, so it's a good idea to guy out the fly if you expect rain.

Can probably acommodate two people in a pinch, but if you're over 6 ft. tall look no further than than the Windfoil! This tent is the BOMB!

I bought two of these tents at a great closeout price, planning to use them to pack in the Adirondacks with my son and nephew. Just got back from climbing Colvin, Nippletop and Dial in some fairly miserable rainy, cool, black fly-infested weather, and here's my feedback:

* Absolutely rainproof - it rained probably 60 of the 72 hours we were there, and the out-of-the-bag Windfoil was bone dry deluge after deluge. I didn't seal any seams, but did guy out all fly lines on the non-sagging poly fly.

* Lightweight - everything included was 5 lbs., 11 oz.

* Roomy - I slept in it alone, and had all kinds of room inside for my gear; this included my 4900 cu. in. backpack and boots in the mini-vestibule, although I could have easily stored them in the tent with me. My wife and I could sleep comfortably with all our gear, but a couple of larger folks (wider) might get a little cramped.

* Condensation - none at all in the tent. The fly had some condensation, but I thought I'd be swimming after all the rain and wind - nothing. Great breathability with full-length mesh screens.

* Extras - wonderful hooded vent on the fly; super photochromatic windows which really worked (blue with the 6 hours of sun we had, clear after the clouds came back).

* Negatives - nothing outstanding. It's a 2-pole hoop tent with minimal height at the foot, but I could sit upright at the front (I'm 5'11"). The roof sagged a little, but no big deal and I understand that the newer version solves this with "Flyboy" technology.

Bottom line: a great backpacking tent for one or two people, lightweight and bombproof. You'd still be getting a good deal paying full price.

I have used this tent for two years. Great lighweight tent. I really like it for use in hot temps.I like to peel the fly back to let the breeze in. If you are not a big person it is really comfortable.
Easy to put up, only needs two stakes, I have been through one pouring night with no problem.
Easy to put up, roomier than a bivy. It is pretty long and you have to mix up with two people in the tent.
I usually use a tarp and bivy but if the bugs are bad I use the ultralight.

The best tent I've used yet! Super light weight, and a lot of room for tall people...me included. Great quality of construction and durability. Nicely ventilated and the rainfly has a vent to keep you cool. What more can I say, well worth the price and you can almost always find it on sale...

I purchased the tent in '94 and must say that I've seen 100+ degree nights in it, as well as Virginia in February at an easy 0- and still use it every chance I get. No leaks, no tears, and the zippers still work as good as new. I hike at least every other weekend and take several long trips each year, including canoeing and climbing, and wow! What a great buy.

I've had my Windfoil Ultralite for two years and it's been 100% waterproof and sheds wind without any trouble at all. It's roomy enough for two to sleep, but wouldn't want to spend all day in it.
Enough room for two inside and packs in the vestiuble, which remains dry as well. No complaints, but do stake out the rainfly guy lines or it will sag and you will be wet. Setup for me is about 5 minutes and takedown about the same if you stuff rather than fold and roll, even folding neatly is about 10 minutes or less for me with the ground sheet, which I recommend with a tent this light. Another fine Kelty product!

This tent is definitely for tall people (even two of them)! Because it's narrow and long, you'll always find enough flat ground to set it up! I agree with what everyone else has said about how wonderful this tent is. Here are some additional comments: just barely enough room to sit up completely inside (unless you're under 5' 5"), if you play around with the stakes and guylines, it'll set up without sagging in the middle, the 2000 version has two "windows" in the rainfly which are excellent for stargazing and weather watching, I upgraded the stakes right away (I use Nobendium), and don't pay full price for this tent - there are plenty of deals! A perfect tent, light enough for soloing, large enough for two!
