Easy to setup, manual could be a little more helpful though. would be nice to have a skylight but that's not much a problem for me. Bought it at REI-outlet for $100 so I can't complain. It kept us dry from a rainy night and it is ventilated enough for me. It is roomy enough for your gear too so that's nice.

Customer Service

Called up Kelty to inquire about the rainfly. I ripped the rainfly because of seam seal even though I followed the directions on the seam seal. they were helpful enough to recommend dealers and tell me the cost but nothing special here. I just duct taped the rip and it's functioned fine in the rain.

I was lucky enough to pick a Windfoil up at an REI Scratch-N-Dent sale for $20 (regular retail is $180 I think), as a return. The tag said "slightly used", and it looked like they took it out of the bag and that was it. I seam-sealed it (because...) and promptly took it on a 4 day trip of the Superior Hiking TRail. I canNOT recommend this tent more. Under 5 lbs, packs down nicely, and sets up in a flash. For a non-freestanding hoop tent, it took me less than 10 minutes to stake it out, set it up, and guy out the fly. The poles & stakes are Kelty aluminum, which helps keep the weight down, and the floor is taped "bathtub-style", which is a great plus. It's alos a very roomy tent, at over 7' long, and had more than enough room for two hikers (both over 6'3") and all our gear inside.

The only recommendation I can make about the tent is to set it up to maximize the air flow - it's well vented, with no-see-um mesh along the sides, back and doors, but with the fly on, it can get a little stuffy in there. We set it up so the breeze would pass through the length of the tent, and that made all the difference. If you're looking for an economical 2 person backpacking tent, don't hesitate to check this out!

The Windfoil is a very good tent. Although extremly light for it's size, it's quality made and looks quite stable. It's waterproof as well, as long you're nicely setting the guylines for the rainfly. This may take quite a while. The price / performance ratio is just excellent.

I used this tent for eight night and the more I used it the more I liked it. Sets up in no time and has all the room you could need. I used it as a one person tent but it had plenty of room for two. Very wind and water proof also.

This Kelty tent is great! Very, very light weight making it easy to carry on a backpacking trip or cycling where weight can be even more important. Set up and take down is a breeze. I have had to take it down in pounding rain and it only took two or three minutes to get it into its bag and on the truck.

This tent is awesome! Absouloutley no take-down time, very easy to put away. Also, its very light, for hikes and stuff. This is one of my favorite tents because of the reasons listed above. If I got another tent, this would be the one!
