First I have to ask why are people reviewing this tent if they don't own it or have not feild tested it. The Peregrine has been good to me since I purchased it on my way down to a week and a half road trip through California. I got the chance to use it last weekend snow camping. Here is the skinny; it vents very well. Here in humid old Washington you need that. Condensation has been minimal. What is this I hear about stability? It's solid as most 3-Season tents. If you like jumping on your tents go get a camper van! It's held up well towind, though I've yet to get it in anything severe. The comments about the fly zipper are well founded though. You have to get it lined up just right just to make the zips tollerable. The shape is fantastic! It's not only gracful, but useble space as well. And the fact that when I get up in the morning I don't have to crawl over my wife, but just unzip the closest flap and lean forward to get up. Very egronomic. The fly has never leaked on me, but stakeing out the vestables is a bit tricky, it needs just a bit more material to cover my pack. All in all, I don't think I'll have to shop for a tent for a long while. Customer Service I have had no real experience with The North Face since I don't have or really want any thing else by them. Similar Products Used: For the other season this tent was not designed for (even though I just camped w/ it in 10' of snow) try a warm and sturdy Igloo. If you like this tent, check out Marmot. They are the strongest contender. |

I loved the design features of this tent until I actually set it up and was disheartened to find that even the smallest amount of force on the pole crossing at the foot of the tent causes the entire thing to collapse into a flat pile. TNF tried to remedy this by adding a little cord connection, but even the slightest wind could dash any chance of a sound night's sleep. I still love the design, but TNF needs to remedy this problem before I would buy this tent. Customer Service TNF is otherwise a great company, but while they are becoming more popular every year, their quality is becoming less and less appealing. Similar Products Used: Nobody has yet to try this type of design, or to improve this existing one, but if they do, I would jump at the chance to try it. |

What a great tent. We just recently went on a 4 day backpacking trip with our two Labs. The tent was awesome. It weathered a long night of continuous rain, be my husband and I, plus our two Labrador retrievers stayed dry, warm and, cozy. We had plenty of room for some of our gear plus the two big dogs. The two big doors are great. Lots of mesh pocket too for keeping the little stuff close at hand. Very easy to set up too with the color coded poles. Not too heavy considering the room inside. Great tent if you have dogs. Similar Products Used: None |

Great tent. Camped on Trey Mt.(North Ga) and it poured, not a drop inside tent. I was very impressed with how it held up to weather cond. Very well ventilated, and easy for 2 people to fit comfortably and with room to spare. Once again, Great tent. Customer Service none needed Similar Products Used: none |

I just tried out my new Peregrine in Colorado. This was more atypical car-camping, so I didn't have issues with the weight (but this is definitely a car camping tent). I really liked the easy set up, but realized that I've got a lot of work to do guying out the fly (it didn't come with enought stakes for the fly). The internal space is bountiful, especially if you're used the classic NF Firefly, etc. I could store all of my gear right near my head, except my boots which stayed outside. I really, really like all of the gear pockets (3 on a side) and the dual doors. I didn't get any rain but suspect that it requires a little dancing to make sure the rain doesn't get inside the tent when entering/exiting. My concerns: price, stability in really strong winds due its atypical design, and weight. In sum, this is a great car camping tent or a tent to use when you can split it up among packs but wait until it goes on sale before you pluck it down for this one. Customer Service No problems. |
