Great all around utility crampons for hiking. Very solid construction and easy to put on and take off, even in adverse conditions. Really dependable, bomb proof, no nonsense gear. Great price too.

I've used my Sabretooths twice on Rainier, in the Sierras and for vertical ice. They have worked great everytime I put them on. For soft, late season waterfall ice, I put away my Rambos and used my Sabretooths with good results. Only two problems I've got with them are that when the frontpoints wear out, you have to replace the whole crampon and the stupid set screw on my model that is a constant pain when making adjustments for friends. Buy a pair with the spring-loaded adjuster!!

Customer Service

BD always has responded quickly to my emails.

These suckers are great. Easy on and off with my Scarpa Alphas. These have kept me safe while traversing ridges in the Whites to climbing gullies in Huntington Ravine, NH. I do not own the anti-bot plates, but have not had a problem with snow buildup, YET. A bit heavy, but worth the weight.

I have to say these are a great buy. I believe them to be the standard. Near perfect fit with La Sprotiva Nepals. I did have one pop off but it was my fault(always double check before heading out) Only one complaint. Do they really have to be so damn sharp out of the box? I think BD is conspiring with gaiter comanies. A couple of good tears in mine from them. I guess I will need to learn to walk straight. Take them out on your sidewalk before the hills. Seriously.

Bomber fit on my Invernos though it required setting one crampon on the third hole and the other on the fourth. Front bail is easy to place even with snow on my boots and freezing hands. Good feedback when clamping rear lets you know that you're good to go. Even the safety straps are a cinch. Great for glacier slogging and ice climbing in crevasses, but I would opt for a vertical crampon for waterfall ice.

I´ve been used this crampons for about a year and a half and they perform excellent for general mountaineering very sharp points and durable.my only complaint is that if try to use them when new ,with koflachs arctis expe you will have some trouble s to fit them in the front bail due to the wide front of the boot ,but once you pull the front bail a little it will fit well, but not perfect i have had no problem with them but if you are not sure switch to new matic crampons.

Customer Service

made a change for a blem problem when i first purchased the crampons.no problem.excellent BD retailers here in mexico(vertimania).

For general glacier/semi steep snow/ice they work great. Don't know that I'd trust them on tall ice. Only ice where the lack of adequate secondary bails wouldn't kill me. Besides that I love em. For general winter mounatineering, i don't know how I got along without them.

Great allround crampons. I bought these because they fit my leather mountain xc-boots, and my alpine boots. Since that I have also used them on my Dynafit AT boots, and my mountaineering boots.
They work reasonably well even on waterfalls - but one have to step down, and not kick straight in.
They have also stayed sharp after some mixed climbing.

Probably the best All-Round crampon on the planet. Preforms superbly as a general mountaineering crampon: Simple design, does not ball up (even without snow plates in cruddy snow) easy to get on and off with gloves on. I love it. With adequately stiff boots you can even climb vertical ice with them passably well. I the only complaint I have is that the tool that comes with the crampons is a little inadequate for field repairs and adjustments- not that I ever had to use it ...

rattled.
