Strength:

Very stiff and light Amazing carving ability Very responsive to good technique 2003 model looks nice Very stable at high speed

Weakness:

Costs a lot Has a mind of its own if you don't work it hard Mental brownout = wipeout Very stealable

Ride it, or it will ride you. I traded up to a 164cm BMC after using a 156 for a couple of seasons and realizing it was too short for me. Boy, was I in for a surprise. My first day out was a complete disaster, like being a beginner again. I guess the shorter board let me get away with a lot of stuff. The longer board (which is right for my weight) simply will not allow you to get away with anything less than proper technique. Once you start to ride it with some power and confidence, then suddenly you GET IT. The damn thing rails like a demon once you crank it up on edge. If you lose concentration, you are quite likely heading for a face plant, because this board wants to turn, and unless you are turning it, it will be turning you. It is quite a scary feeling to begin with. You will also want your boots and bindings to be tight as a gnat's wotsit, because you'll need all the control you can get. I've been cycling hard all summer and riding hard all this season and thought my legs were in shape until my first day on this board... just to get the damn thing under control I had to increase angulation, compression, all the good stuff. Ow. Big burn by the time I got back to the chair. You are forced to become a better rider just to handle it. Very confidence inspiring once you get used to it. Irons out a lot of bumps. You WILL go too fast.

Strength:

Great edge control, fast and just the right stiffness.

Weakness:

limited position for the bindings, suck ass graphics...why is it that the expensive boards aways have the worst graphics.

Great Edge control...I love this board. I replaced it over my K2 Electra 164, and Burton Custom. The only thing I didn't like is the limited positions for the bindings...and it seems more delicate than my Electra.

Strength:

Fast, stiff, floats well in pow, very light

Weakness:

Delam problems, cost

Overall a good board but has a durbility problem. My board started delamming in one spot at first, then two, then four. It could be that Burton got the epoxy mix screwed up that day, or maybe I just rode it too hard, but I had a Custom 64 that lasted me for 3 years, the BMC died after about 20 outings. I think the capped sidewall may predispose the board to delamming while the slantwalls could be a bit sturdier. A good board for those who want to speed, but be careful in the trees and abusive terrain, the board just won't last.

Strength:

Super light, nice edge to edge tranni, good pop

Weakness:

too stiff for jibbing, delicate base, super sketchy at high speed

This is considered to be burton's impalla of all mountain freestyle/ride boards. Ive ridden several boards from burton of the past 8 years, and i believe this is the poorest riding board ive been on. The BMC is a great deck, dont get me wrong, but i wasnt stoked my first day out on it. I have ridden a couple customs and they rode way better than this deck. It rides similar as the customs unless you get it up to speed, and then it just gets sketch. I think this is due to the super thin dragonfly core, and the capt sidewalls, all of which were used to reduce weight. If you ride as fast as you can always, dont get this deck. In the park i was equally dissappointed. The deck is way too stiff for jibbing, nosepresses are a chore, when compared on other decks from burton like the seven. The BMC is a deck that performs equally well in all types of riding, however it doesnt really do anything well

Strength:

It´s light, stiff, fast, faster and accurate. After the break-in period, after learning the will of this eager thing you will love the agility obtained with this piece. It carves, spins and speeds like a dream. I WOULD recommend this for a beginner IF you have too much money - when you learned this one you can master everything and it´s just a matter of getting used to the snappy feeling.

Weakness:

It tends to disobey you at lower speeds. It's a bit jumpy on hard, rugged surfaces. It makes you over-bold in most terrains...

A very good board for every occasion. It´s stiff, fast and fast. It takes a while to get used to the feeling you´re not in total control but after a short while you will have board that does exactly what you want it to.

Strength:

This board is good for any type of condition and can do everything from the half-pipes to the terrain parks to just freeriding. can hold good edges and is very fast.

Weakness:

little too stiff and easy to catch an edge.... deff. wouldn't recomend for a beginer

after demoing and searching for the perfect board i finally found it. the bmc rides great in either powder or ice and can do just about anything. very stiff and can be a little too stiff for rails. easy edge transition and can hold a good edge.....makes great carves. this makes it a little easier easier to land. It also is a easier to land and has a little snap to it.

Strength:

great snap, great edge control, fast as grease lighting

Weakness:

little to stiff for rails

Got this board as a warrenty replace on last years BMC(delam on nose) I don''t know if it was the factory wax and edges but it handled like a dream, nobody in my group could hang..was very fast, quick edge to edge..took it in the park and went big...seems to land great..also spins pretty decent..a litle stiff for jibbing but I have only rode it once so once it breaks in better will probably be a bit softer..oh it has such good snap..also might be because of it being brand new

Strength:

Great edge hold and stable for high speed turns in powder or ice, super light, stiff.

Weakness:

Occasionally does what IT wants at lower speeds.

Although this is my 1st board owned, I''ve rented/borrowed probably 15 different boards in the last 3 seasons (blew a lot of money doing this). As the top of the line Burton board, wasn''t sure how it would compare to basic rental types. I was fortunate to ride it through all types of conditions on my first trip- ice, deep and packed powder, moguls, some air off small ramps. I found myself catching a lot of edges and wiping at first (may have been my fairly aggressive downhill stance- bindings angled forward at 18 degrees (front) and 12 (back)), but after getting the feel of it, adjusted my technique, and found myself FLYING down the hill. The board''s great for this- manueverability increases with speed. But fortunately, it seems to help you through some lower-speed off-balanced screw-ups, there were many times when I should have gone down, but the board corrected me. Great torsional stiffness for floating across the face of mountains. Really light for pulling it up, extending air-time. Overall, a great board, once you get it figured out.

I just bought this board and the first time I took it out, I totally noticed a big difference. This is an awesome board and allows you to do alot with it. Very forgiving on all types of terrain.

Strength:

-This board can do everything: half-pipes, terrain parks, powder, trees, cruisers, you name it and you can ride it with the BMC. -Extra snappy, feel the snap crackle and pop as you catch huge air. -Stiff, the BMC can hold a comfortable edge at high speeds: carves like a dream -Fast, acclerates very quickly -Clean simple graphics -Stonger lamanation in 2002 model, the top doesn''t scratch as easily

Weakness:

-Stiff, this is NOT a beginners board, it is far to easy to catch an edge. -If you don''t ride this board it will ride you. The BMC will not suffer fools, it requires more concentration than many boards. -Relatively narrow, if you have big feet you will want a wider board. -Expensive-nuff said -Addictive, I love this board soo much I''ve gotten off my lazy a** to write a review. Buy this board and you may turn into a snowboard bum.

The BMC is an amazing board. It is the third board I have owned and when compared to the other boards I have demo''ed it is by far the best. It is very snappy: the carbon I-beam does wonders, especially for rollers without much lift. The BMC is also relatively stiff. The core is composed of 2 layers of lengthwise fibers that sandwich a layer of diagonal fibers. This makes it extremely strong. The BMC, while stiff, gives me a good feeling of the snow under me do to it''s ability flex between the bindings. The BMC carves like a dream at EVERY speed, and feels very stable while doing so. Finally, the BMC is extremely light. All in all, the BMC is a suberb board and in my experience unmatched in speed, control, and snap.
