None Absolutely the best headlamp you can buy! Lightweight, reliable, durable & cheap! I have used this lamp on about 6 trips & it still burns like I just took it out of the box. If you''re looking to backpack lightweight you can''t beat it. Customer Service REI - No problems! Similar Products Used: None |

None I love this thing. it''s obviously not the most powerful flashlight, but the size weight, and runtime of the batteries more than make up for that. I use it both for camping and riding my bike at night. If you think you need something more powerful, this one''s still useful as a second one to bring at little extra weight. None Fantastic lamp. I used it for the first time on a late October hike in the Adirondacks. On our day-hike, we came across a poor guy who had been injured - broken leg. 4 of the 7 hours it took to get him out of the backcountry were after dark, and the trails up there are non-too-easy for night hiking. However, this little beauty was plenty bright to light the trail to help in the rescue. Burned plenty bright to see around camp, cook late-night dinners, and do pretty much everything. All around, a fantastic product, well deserving of its reputation. Similar Products Used: Princeton Tech Solo |

None This headlight is AWESOME! It''s so small but the light output is very bright. The head band is very comfortable. I''ve heard that the batteries last 150 hours. If you use nickel metal hybrid batteries(nimh) they will last alot longer. It''s great for 2 or 3 night campouts. I love the fact that the LED''s life is so high(100,00 hours). Overall this is a backpackers dream. Customer Service No problems yet. Similar Products Used: Petzl Zipka, the band on that could be broken very easily. |

None I picked one of these up at an REI scratch and dent sale and was pleasently surprised. I originally bought it for my wife to use in camp but now I have taken it for my main lamp. It throws enough light to hike at night (hike, not see for miles) and is so lightweight you don''''t even notice it. It is also so low profile that it doesn''''t get knocked around like my Princeton tech solo. Originally I wanted a BD moonlight, but I think this would get knocked around as well. I replaced the batteries when I first got it and it has gone several months and several trips on the same set. I''''m pretty impressed with this piece of gear, especially at the price I paid. Customer Service Petzl and REI are both top notch companies in my book. Similar Products Used: Princeton Tech Solo. |

None I like the Tikka also. I originally purchased the Matrix, but sent it back. Although it''s well made and waterproof..its simply too dim to be of much use for me. It was no brighter than my tiny Photon Micro II light. The Tikka is noticably brighter than the Matrix, and best of all, gives a nice, even lighted area that is much wider. Don''t worry about the single headband, the Tikka illuminates such a large area that you don''t need much adjustment. Similar Products Used: Petzl Micro, Princeton Matrix |

None Great lamp all around. This lamp will not light up much more that 15 feet in front of you, but it lights up everything in front of you. The LED bulbs are terrific. This headlamp lasts forever. It is great for backpacking because it is so small and light weight. It is perfect for tents and night trekking. The only feature I did not like is that it is not gauranteed to be water proof. However, I have a friend owns one and has used it in the rain many times and claims he has had no problems. I hope mine performs the same way. Similar Products Used: mag-light, Generic brands, etc. |

None Love my Tikka! I have thin hair and other headlamps had plastic or elastic head wraps which pulled and broke my hair. This head band is much more comfortable, the Tikka is super lightweight, and works perfectly for me around the camp and while reading at night. None The Tikka has been a good little light for the last several campouts. I have Quartermaster duties at my sons BSA campouts. We usually are setting up our weekend camsites after dark. This light provides good light for fixing broken tent zippers, finding lost tent stakes and poles in the dark. I also bought my son one for his birthday and so far it made it through a week at summer camp and a couple of campouts. I wore it recently while working in my 110 degree attic before my last campout. I did not realize that there was a problem until I saw a faint glow in my gear loft that night. Saturating the headband with sweat quickly caused corrosion at the battery contacts and also made the switch hard to operate. You have to remove the LED side of the case to clean the switch area, that was not easy. I don''t think it was meant to be removed. Bottom line, I was able to fix it and will continue to use it. It''s a good light , but it could use a better seal. I might try a little silicon on the case next time I change batteries. This wasn''t my idea but it''s pretty cool, you can easily remove the Petzl band and slide the light over the band on the back of your ball cap. Turn your cap around at night. Remember, No Sweat. None We got a late start up Carvers Gap (like 9:00pm late). I was a little nervous about field testing my new Tikka with the three mile night hike that was ahead of us. I strapped on this little half-pint head lamp and was blown away at how bright it was. With 30 plus hours on the original battery, it''s still as bright as the first day I used it. The ONLY negative: There are times when you''re sitting by a smoldering campfire... almost ready to crawl in that cozy sleeping bag and you hear something big stepping on sticks just outside of your camp. Unfortunately, this little light doesn''t (and will not) send out a spot beam. I found that to be a real drag while I sat there squinting at a set of eyes looking back over the top of some four foot rodo bushes. If I had a real falshlight, I could have atleast saw what was eyeballing my food bag (or me.) If you are not a night hiker and just need an around the camp light to dig a snickers out of your pack... This is your headlamp Customer Service I have never had a problem with REI''s customer service. Similar Products Used: None |
